Rabbi Jonathan Hausman
Rabbi Jonathan Hausman hails from Bridgeport, Conn. He is the eldest of four brothers and is an avid cyclist.
Rabbi J, as he is known, received a B.A. in Religion and Judaic Studies and an M.A. in Middle East and Jewish Studies from The George Washington University. He received a J.D. from Emory University and received his smicha (rabbinic ordination) from Tifereth Israel Rabbinical Yeshiva. He was a fellow at Kollel Lomdei Torah.
He served as Board member and Vice President of the Jewish Cemetery of Massachusetts as well as a member of the Board of Governors of the Va'ad HaKashruth. He served as a Board member of the Striar JCC, South Area Solomon Schechter and the Striar YMCA. He is a Past Treasurer and President of the Stoughton Clergy Association. He is a past Board Member and first VP of American Friends of ALYN Hospital.
Rabbi J has taken roles in numerous administrative and director capacities in religious schools and community-based educational programs in southwestern Connecticut before his arrival in Stoughton in August 1996. He served Congregation Sinai of West Haven, Conn.
He is an avid cyclist, having ridden throughout New England and the Mid Atlantic states as well as overseas.
