President's Message
The results are in, and we have the responses from the Congregational Survey. I want to thank all of you that participated; nearly 40% of our congregation responded to the survey. This type of response showed us how important the well-being of our shul is to you. The Executive Board is in the process of analyzing the results. We hope that some improvements will result from some of the suggestions and comments. This will be a slow process, but hopefully we can take make some adjustments. Now if we could get 40% of our congregation to participate in other activities we would have more than enough volunteers to help run a program, never have to make phone calls for daily minyan, or call ahead for Shabbat participation. My point is… to keep this congregation running smoothly with all of the programs and activities, it takes team work. Please consider stepping up as more programs are being planned. If everyone can give 1% more of their time than you gave last year we will all benefit from the extra time. After all, 1% of your time is not very much. We are in the process of planning our calendar events for next year as well as the operating budget for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. As we approach the end of this year, I respectfully request all of our members to take care of their financial obligations to the shul. Without your continued assistance, we would not be able to provide our members the vast variety of programs and activities. Please join us next month at the Congregational Meeting on June 11th, beginning with minyan at 7:30PM. We hope to see you later this month at some of the events in May. On May 9th there will be a new member open house. May 18th is our 2nd annual Gerry Harstone Mini-Golf Tournament and on May 31st the Zayin class advancement service will be held. This is when our 7th grade students mark the completion of the Religious School Program at Ahavath Torah. However, this is not the end of their religious education; they can then enroll in other programs to further their education. One of these programs is our own Yesod Program that is held every Sunday morning during the school year. Enjoy the start of the good weather and come check us out to see all the programs that are taking place at ATC.
